Mentorship successes

1. Chuma becomes a YouTube star instead of an Engineer

The problem: Mother reported that his son Chuma was failing in college and needed help.

The solution: Contrary to his parent’s expectation to become an engineer, our assessment led to a talent he could explore on YouTube. He also transferred to another university and changed his major to Computer science.

The outcome: Chuma graduated as a computer major with an excellent GPA, self-employed earning his entire living on YouTube, helping his mother with her mortgage and bought his first house. Our last conversation was about him adding more variety to his videos, increasing viewers and remaining self-employed.

2. Jeffrey becomes a professor instead of a Lawyer

The problem: Jeffrey was 17 years and in high school. He had a passion to become a teacher and a diplomat, but because teaching was considered a low-income profession, his mother preferred that he becomes a lawyer.

The solution: He became depressed after our assessment when he noticed that the salary of a teacher would not be enough to afford his dream lifestyle. Our session ended with a plan for him to make full use of the talents we identified by adding writing of books to his teaching.

The outcome: Jeffery pursued Spanish and Chinese in high school, went to college and graduated with bachelors in Spanish language, culture, and society, then had a Master of Art Romance Languages, Literature and Linguistics, and had a PhD in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Studies. He is now an Associate Professor of Spanish language and culture. He has published his first book and is now working on two new books. He bought a house. He is well on track to qualify as a diplomat.

3. Juliana becomes a medical doctor from a pharmaceutical scientist

The problem: Juliana was a young scientist and colleague in the pharmaceutical industry. She was very frustrated with the FASC instrument she was working with.

The solution: From our assessment, she was encouraged to focus on getting into medical school since her work in the pharmaceutical industry was not a good fit for her and the frustrations could ruin her future. Pointing out to her that her legacy would depend more on how she practices medicine than what school she attended, she accepted a less prestigious school that year and enrolled in medical school.

The outcome: She is now a practicing medical doctor with Obstetrics & Gynecology specialty.

4. Ellen becomes a soap manufacturing CEO from a banker

The problem: Ellen was a banker and rose to the rank of managing staff. She became frustrated with her job and desired to be self-employed. She quit her job and took another job managing a home furnishing retail shop. It was not long, and she became frustrated again.

The solution: From our assessment, she was made to follow an aggressive timeline for quitting her job and advancing a soap product for FDA approval.

The outcome: She resigned from her job according to the timeline, advanced a manufacturing process for new soap brands, and obtained FDA approval in 2023. She is now in production and trying out new marketing strategies.
